Domains
What is a domain?
A domain is an element used to define the organizational level at which, for example, business control framework is defined or authorizations should be segregated from an organizational perspective i.e. domains are used to represent how your company is organizationally structured.
Domains are used in different modules of CSI Accelerator:
- Codification Builder
- Authorization Organizer
- Authorization Auditor
- Controls Organizer
Overview:
- Maintain domains (library)
A domain library is the place where all domains are located i.e. a collection of (predefined) domains that can be used across the application. Note that in the domain library no relation between different domains exists. To access the domain library go to: Library > Domains or press F9, right click menu and load "Domains".
- Maintain domains (decomposition)
In this document with the term domain decomposition is referred to the positioning of the domains in an organizational tree.
Positioning the domains in the organizational tree determines the hierarchy, we call this the parent and child method where the child inherits from its parent and the parent with the overall greatest magnitude becomes the master domain (root).
To access the domain decomposition go to: File > Domains or press F3.
Warning:
When talking about domains you should always make a difference between a domain in the library or in the domain decomposition
